After 27 years in the executive search industry, Frank X. McCarthy, a diversity recruiting
pioneer, sold Xavier Associates, the company he founded in 1973. He established
Diverse Workplace Inc.in 2004.

Before he became involved in recruiting diversity executives, Frank was a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Paterson, NJ. He served as a U.S. Army paratrooper chaplain with tours in Korea, Japan, and the 101st Airborne Division. He later became pastor of an inner-city parish in Paterson where he was involved in many projects in the African American and Latino communities. In 1970, he joined the Office of Economic Opportunity in Boston. He received an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. Frank is a former President of the Massachusetts Professional Placement Consultants. He was President of the Board of Trustees of the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center for five years and currently serves as a board member.
